Student’s Retreat 2012 – Population Genomics Program
16 – 18 March, 2012
This is the annual student meeting of the Doctoral Program Population Genomics and all PhD students of this program are expected to take part in this event and present a poster. If you are giving a talk on Friday this can count as a “talk at another University”, which is a requirement for the CUSO doctoral program in Ecology and Evolution. PhD students attending the meeting and presenting a poster/talk might be able to collect 1 ECTS credit. Participation on both days can be valid 0.5 ECTS credits. Check with the student coordinator of your program. This holds true for students in the CUSO Ecology and Evolution program.
In order to apply for a talk, please submit your abstract in a single pdf file by email to the organizing committee c/o email@example.com
Deadline: February 20, 2012
Registration is free of charge for all participants.
Speakers and all PhD students enrolled in the SNSF Doctoral Program Population Genomics will be reimbursed for their travel expenses due to the rules given here.
External students need to pay for their accommodation, meals and travel themselves.
Housing in shared rooms with breakfast is available at CHF 46,80.- (own sleeping bag) or CHF 56.80.- (including linen) per person per night. Lunch/Dinner is CHF 20.- per person per meal.
All participants are welcome to stay for an extra night (Sunday to Monday) on their own costs (CHF 67.-/CHF 77.- for accommodation and dinner). Please check the appropriate box during your registration so that we can book the additional night for you.
Please note that places are limited for this event. In order to allow the maximum of participants we will ask accepted participants, who cancel and cannot be replaced or who do not show up to pay part of the costs (minimum CHF 94.- depending on their pre-reservation).
How to reach the meeting
The retreat will take place at Hotel Pradotel in Churwalden, Grisons, Switzerland. The closest airport is Zürich Airport (ZRH). There are public trains from the airport to the city of Zürich, where you will have to change to an intercity train to Chur. From Chur it is recommended to take a bus (Postauto) to Churwalden Post. Many students might plan to arrive by car and if we know it in advance we can pick you up on the way and give you a “shuttle ride”. People should plan to arrive at the hotel at 2 pm on Friday, 16 March, 2012.
