Bosnia and Herzegovina:
None of the jurisdictions in Bosnia and Herzegovina have a probation service neither the State level authorities, nor entity level authorities (Federation of BiH and Republika Srpska).

Czech Republic:
The statistical and registration system cannot provide the information on STOCK on 1st January 2012. The only number available is the number of persons who were placed under the supervision or care of probation agencies during the year 2011 (FLOW OF ENTRIES) (from 1st January 2011 to 31st December 2011). This number is 22 232.

Germany:
 This number covers data for December 31st 2010 (more recent data is not yet available) and for the former territory of the Federal Republic of Germany including Berlin (data for December 31st 2007), Brandenburg (data for December 31st 2009) and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern but without Hamburg. The data covers supervisions conducted by persons working primary as parole officers only.  Italy:

The national total datum relevant to “alternative measures, security measures in the community, substitutive sanctions and other measures” ongoing on 31” December 2011 is of 23 490 persons.

The relevant breakdown is the following:
a) 19 239 persons under alternative measures (of whom: 9 952 persons assigned to the Probation Service, 916 in semiliberty, 8 371 under home detention);
b) 4 251 subjects undergoing security measures in the community, substitutive sanctions and other measures (of whom 3 061 under supervised liberty, 115 under monitored liberty, 8 under semi-detention, 534 performing community service, 11 under conditionally suspended sentence, 521 working outside prison)

The total general datum relevant to the item “activities of advice and treatment” of prisoners – ongoing on 31” December 2011 – is 19 732 persons.

The relevant breakdown is the following:
a) 18 806 cases of ad vice activities (of whom: 15 411 relevant to ”observation of sentenced persons in prison”, 544 relevant to “observation of internees”, 2 581 relevant to “inquiries for persons under observation both prisoners and internees)
b) 926 cases of “treatment of sentenced persons in prisons”.
